Traditionally, it’s a late breakfast with mimosas or bucks fizz. Here in South Wales, we take it to the extreme, and it is generally a food dish or two with free-flowing Prosecco within a 90-minute time frame. Some Cardiff restaurants include cocktails, mocktails and pints. Some places also give you limitless food or a two-hour time slot.

Typically, bottomless brunch starts from your table time, so you may not get your full drinking time if you run late. Also, your drinks will be replaced one at a time, and you can usually only order the next one after you’ve finished the first. Choose your food wisely; if you need a decent meal when drinking like me, you may wish to have a large breakfast or a snack before you go. The meals tend to be lighter or have small plates.

Top tip: Make sure you make a booking in advance by calling or clicking the book now button on the website. Most establishments require 24-48 hours’ notice.

Slug and Lettuce Cardiff Central is a mix of cosy and vibrant, perfect for shaking off the week’s stress with some good company, for happy hour drinks, cocktail making, afternoon tea and a bite to eat.

For those not in the know, the Slug and Lettuce Bottomless Brunch Cardiff offers a two hour time slot of pure indulgence. Yes, you heard right: a brunch food item plus unlimited drinks. From Virgin Mary mocktails to Prosecco. The drinks menu is extensive enough to make even the pickiest drinker smile.

So, what did I eat from the Slug and Lettuce Bottomless Brunch Menu?

Crispy Shredded Chicken & Belgian Waffle Fingers

Honestly, I made a mistake with my order. Why? The portion size. The Crispy Shredded Chicken & Belgian Waffle Fingers gave me a satisfying spicy crunch, paired with sweet Belgian waffles that were the ideal balance of light and fluffy. Drenched in pure Canadian maple syrup and a sweet piquanté pepper sauce, every bite was a delightful flavour dance.

However, it wasn’t a filling meal compared to my friend’s Big Breakfast. Luckily, she has a smaller appetite and gave me her hash browns.

The Big Breakfast

Fill up with the Big Breakfast. We’re talking one fried egg, topped with chilli flakes for that extra zing, two The Jolly Hog™ Proper Porker sausages, three rashers of crispy bacon, three golden hash browns, half a grilled tomato, and a slice of toast slathered in butter. And the beans? You can go classic baked or lightly spiced if you’re feeling adventurous.

Each bite was a taste of brunch heaven. The sausages were juicy, the bacon crispy and the hash browns had that perfect crunch. The chilli flakes on the egg were a stroke of genius – adding just the right amount of heat. It’s safe to say it was brunch bliss.

Drinks and Atmosphere

What’s a bottomless brunch without the drinks? The staff at Slug and Lettuce Cardiff Central were on top form, ensuring our glasses were never empty. Whether you’re into cocktails, mocktails, or a classic Prosecco, they’ve got you covered.

The atmosphere was lively, with a mix of groups celebrating special occasions and friends catching up over cocktails. It’s the kind of place where time flies – before you know it, your two hour time slot is up, and you’re contemplating booking another round.

When is Bottomless Brunch available?

There are a couple of offers. The daytime brunch is available daily until 5pm. Sunday to Friday is £33.95 per person, and Saturday is £35.95 per person, including bank holiday weekends. After 5pm, it’s £35.95 Sunday to Friday and £37.95 per person on Saturday. Sides and additional courses can be added on. You can upgrade your drinks for £10 per person; the whole group must upgrade.

There are themed brunches throughout the year, such as the Swiftie Brunch or the WAG’s Brunch during the Euros 2024. There is also the Flamingo Bingo Friday brunch and festive events.
