The Stable Bottomless Brunch

Dining out at the moment feels like a luxury after nearly 18 months of home cooking and takeaways. I am on a personal mission to try every bottomless brunch in Cardiff. However, bottomless Prosecco and dainty dinners aren’t for everyone. With The Stable Bar Cardiff’s bottomless pizza brunch deal, I’ll even be able to drag the boyfriend along, as he wants pints and something filling.

If you haven’t been to the Stable restaurant Cardiff before, you can expect casual dining on wooden benches and chilled-out vibes. The dining space is across two floors, and there is now an extensive outdoor area too. The music is excellent, and the energetic staff will make your visit a positive experience. Working in hospitality myself, I was impressed by how hard the team worked, constantly cleaning and naturally engaging with customers.

Bottomless Pizza Brunch Cardiff

Over the last couple of years, I have loved doing reviews at different restaurants with a bottomless offer. When Cardiff Stable invited me along, I nearly wet myself with excitement. I am a massive cider fan. It had been some time since my last visit, with the multiple lockdowns and all. But, during my previous visit, I loved the tasting board. If you want to try a few different drinks to choose your new favourite cider, then this is a real winner. And who doesn’t love pizza?

What’s included in the Cardiff brunch?

Every Saturday between 11:30 and 17:00, with the last sitting at 15:30. You can book the Stable Cardiff Bottomless Brunch for only £29. That’s right, just £29! It includes a pizza, pudding and free-flowing bottomless drinks for 90 minutes. Enjoy Freedom lager, Prosecco, Mimosas or my new favourite cider Devon Mist. If you love traditional cider but also love the sweetness of a modern sparkling drink, then this is for you!

I went with my friend Hisdoryan; she loved the cider so much that she was Googling where to buy it after the first sip. (Morrisons, ALDI and Lilley’s Cider, if you must know)

Plus, you can upgrade for £5 per person to enjoy the Spritz range. The Blackcurrant Spritz is blackcurrant liqueur, Prosecco and soda, Regal Spritz with wild rose, Prosecco, lemonade and soda; and Aperol Spritz with Aperol, Prosecco and soda.

Does pineapple belong on pizza?

It’s all about the food for me. So, let’s talk about the sourdough pizza… the sourdough bases were thin and crispy. Picking just one was a difficult decision. We decided that we would have half of each of our choices. Now, I love pineapple on pizza but have a caveat; it has to have some chilli with it too. Tada! The Stable Cardiff menu delivers. It even had real ham hock, not synthetic stuff. The pizza was delicious, and I loved dunking the crust into the chipotle mayo dip.

Our favourite pizza was The Blazing Saddle, which is slow roasted pulled beef, mozzarella, roast piquillo peppers, red onion marmalade, and jalapenos. It is also smothered in a homemade garlic and herb drizzle. I want a jar of the marmalade for Christmas. It would be amazing with all the cheese and picky bits.

But I’m vegan / gluten-free; what can I have?

Vegan and gluten-free pizzas are also available, so no one has to miss out. The Killer Katsu is the vegan Stable pizza Cardiff and has breaded vegan chicken, edamame beans, carrot, nigella seeds and a katsu curry sauce base. Want to try the sauce? You can get it as a dip too.

Don’t want pizza?

Are you mad?! Actually, I really fancied a salad. No, that’s not a joke. The Californian Chicken Salad sounded right up my street, with Cajun chicken, avocado, spinach, homeslaw, black-eyed beans, garden peas, quinoa, sweet lime dressing and freshly baked tortilla. There’s even a vegan version.

There’s also Mac and Cheese. Plus, a lot of extras. If you want to add to your bottomless cider and pizza, there’s homeslaw, side salad and tater tots. I tried the Sticky Fingers Tater Tots (because I stupidly thought pizza wouldn’t be enough). These little balls of crispy potatoes were drizzled with BBQ sauce, spring onions and nigella seeds.

Don’t forget about dessert

I completely forgot that pudding was also included in the deal. I have a big appetite but had filled up on the pizza – even shamelessly leaving a slice or two. There isn’t a vast choice; it’s a chocolate brownie with ice cream, toffee sauce and honeycomb or a vegan version. Alternatively, you can have a few scoops of ice cream. Let’s be honest. Most of us would choose a chocolate treat anyway. It was sticky, sweet and seriously good.

Where is Cardiff Stable?

Finding Stable is easy. I got off the train at Queen Street, and it took about 5-minutes to walk over. It is opposite the entrance to St David’s Shopping Centre, near the Motorpoint Arena. It is under the Admiral building.

Transport for Wales, who run the trains, have made it even easier to get around. Multiflex has just been introduced, which gives you 12 journeys for the same price as 5 returns. And who doesn’t want to save money?

Is the Stable Cardiff dog friendly?

I was incredibly excited to find out that Stable Cardiff is super dog friendly. That’s right; your dog can go inside. Ivan the Irresistible is our rescue. He’s had a tough time and is anxious. However, he has started performing for treats, and the pub is his ideal place to do this. Cardiff is incredibly dog-friendly. Dogs are welcome in hotels, restaurants, pubs and tourist attractions.
