Ballie Ballerson Cardiff Reviews
There have been so many new venues opening in Cardiff City Centre. I recently visited Roxy Lanes, where you can play American pool, air hockey, arcade games, basketball, beer pong, bank shot shuffleboard, ice-free curling and go ten-pin bowling. Golf Fang Cardiff an insane, crazy golf venue. Alongside NQ64, Boom Battle Bar and Flight Club, there’s now Ballie Ballerson.
My friends know I’m a grump and hate the themed bars that keep popping up. Well, hate is a strong word! I love going out, but I am more than happy to sit in an old man’s pub or a bar with great music. I don’t need organised fun or overpriced drinks. However, I was delighted to embrace my inner child and go along to one of the Ballie Ballerson events and check it out.
As you approach The Old Brewery Quarter Cardiff, it’s hard not to notice the colourful neon lights and the sounds of laughter and music from inside the Cardiff cocktail bar. The place has a giant ball pit for adults of different colours and all ages jumping, diving and splashing around in them.

Adult Ball Pit Bar
My first port of call was, of course, the bar. It was happy hour, with two cocktails for £10, spirit and mixers for £2.50 and pints for £4. (I’m pleased with the Ballie Ballerson Cardiff prices!) Happy hour is from Sunday to Friday until 9pm. However, as I expected, the cocktails lean heavily on gin and vodka. The only rum cocktail is a mojito. BOO! If you’re reading this Ballie Ballerson, can we have some dark and spiced rum cocktails, please?!
The DJ played some of my favourite songs, and I had to have a little dance before getting stuck in the ball pit on the first floor. It’s R&B, disco and pop. I believe the cocktail bar is supposed to make you feel young, carefree and happy, surrounded by a sea of colourful balls. It made me feel old, fat and unfit – and only one of these is true! I needed a drink after getting out of the ball pit.
I’m a stickler for being clean and tidy. But I loved to read on their website that the communal ball pit has a deep clean every week. There’s even a special machine called the Gobble Muffin that does it.
I’m not rushing to do it again (the ball pit, that is), but it was an enjoyable evening. Saying that they do a bottomless brunch, which is right up my street. Ballie Ballerson Cardiff is ideal for big groups of friends or hen and stag groups. It would also be an excellent team-building experience with work colleagues as an alternative date night or bank holiday activity.

Ballie Ballerson Bar Bottomless Brunch
The package includes unlimited Neapolitan pizzas, Prosecco, beer and pornstar martinis for 90 minutes. Reserved booth seating and ball pit access are also part of the booking. Bottomless brunch is available Sunday to Friday at 6.30pm and on Saturdays at 2pm for £45 per person. Also, on Saturdays, you can reserve a high-top table at 2pm for £35 per person. Just make sure you pre-book and get your Ballie Ballerson tickets in advance.
Ballie Ballerson Cardiff Menu
Alongside drinks, the ball pit cocktail bar also serves pizzas. As regular readers will know, I’d rather eat local food from independents than food that has been frozen. However, the pizzas are a great price, starting from £6 to £9. There are a few vegetarian and vegan options.
Ballie Ballerson Dress Code
A smart casual dress code is encouraged. However, sportswear and tracksuits are not accepted. You won’t be comfortable in an LBD and heels as you must wear enclosed, flat shoes in the ballpits. However, you can loan some jelly shoes when you purchase your ball pit entry.
Ballie Ballerson Cardiff Opening Date
The bar in Cardiff opened on Friday 15 September 2023.
Ballie Ballerson Opening Times
Monday and Tuesday, the Cardiff bar is closed. Tuesday to Thursday, and Sunday, it opens at 4pm and closes at 1am. On Friday night in Cardiff until 2am, and on Saturdays it opens at 2pm and closes at 2am.
