What is Beaujolais Day UK?

The best wine party is the uncorking of Beaujolais Nouveau from the Beaujolais Region. At one minute past midnight on the third Thursday of November, over a million cases of Beaujolais leave France for different destinations across the globe.

Traditionally, Brits would drive to Dover and get the ferry to France. They would load up their boot with Beaujolais and other affordable wines, beers and spirits and return to the UK. Now, it has become a party day where friends or business colleagues meet for good food, entertainment and, of course, a glass of wine.
