So, when I heard about the £10 Lobster offer at Neighbourhood Kitchen in Cardiff, I sharpened my seafood fork and prepared for what could only be described as a shell of a good time (I promise, that’s the first and last lobster pun… maybe). The affordability of this deal is sure to make any seafood lover’s heart skip a beat.

Pop Up Restaurant Cardiff
Neighbourhood Kitchen is tucked away in Grangetown, just an 8-minute walk from Cardiff Central Train Station. It is the sort of place that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a hidden gem. The vibe is laid-back, with a friendly buzz. Every couple of weeks, there’s a different food offer, from bottomless margaritas and pizza to a crawfish boil, tacos, burgers, and even an entirely vegan menu.
And this month is exceptional – especially if you’re as mad about lobster as I am!

Cardiff Seafood Restaurant
First, we dove into the whole lobster drenched in garlic, herb, and parsley butter. And when I say drenched, I mean it was like the lobster went swimming in a buttery sea. The claws and tail were juicy, the garlic punchy but balanced, and the herbs gave it that fresh, fragrant lift. It was a hands-on affair, which I left to Mike, and I reaped the rewards. £10? I’d have paid double for that!
Next up was the Lobster Thermidor for £14.50 — two beautiful halves of lobster generously slathered in the house’s creamy Thermidor sauce, then topped with parmesan and grilled to perfection. The indulgence of this dish is unparalleled, with the rich sauce complementing the succulent lobster meat. It was a decadent, cheesy, and utterly satisfying experience. While there wasn’t as much meat in these (I may have been unlucky), the presentation of the dish could easily match that of a fancy restaurant.
Now, let’s talk Lobster Mac ‘n Cheese – £14.50. This wasn’t your run-of-the-mill mac ‘n cheese; oh no. The pasta was in a rich, creamy sauce with chunks of lobster and crawfish lurking beneath the surface, waiting to surprise you with each bite. It was a gooey, cheesy masterpiece that brought comfort food to new heights. Michelin, who?
On The Side
As if the lobster wasn’t enough, we ordered a couple of sides. The fried corn ribs were deep-fried beauties, crispy on the outside with a soft, juicy inside. Dusted with smoked paprika and drizzled in Brains Dark BBQ sauce (yes, that’s Brains, as in Cardiff’s beloved beer), these were a smoky, slightly sweet revelation.
Then there were the burnt leeks — charred and slightly crispy, with a drizzle of garlic butter to round it all off. Simple but so satisfying, they added a nice contrast to the richness of the lobster dishes. I have no regrets.
With a couple of beers and ciders, the bill came to £70. No regrets.

So, is £10 for lobster at Neighbourhood Kitchen a steal? 100%. It’s a seafood lover’s dream, served up with a casual, no-fuss attitude that makes the experience even more enjoyable.
Would I go again? Shell yeah!
