Even scarecrows guard the way to the farmyard and barn. The farm’s 200 acres are used to grow wheat, barley, oats, linseed, and cider apples to red tractor standard. For something a little different, there’s Twilight Pumpkin Picking with live music, giving you the chance to choose your pumpkin as the sun goes down before enjoying an atmospheric evening of autumn entertainment.

In Cowbridge, just outside Cardiff, is Forage Farm’s pumpkin picking patch. The Pumpkin Festival is more than just pumpkin picking. Take a ride on a real tractor, get lost in the giant maize maze and get your face painted. This year, you can also meet the farm animals.
The Twilight event is recommended for those aged 8 and over, as the maize maze includes scary characters. For an additional cost, you can also participate in pumpkin catapulting and marshmallow roasting.

Greenland Farm is known as Vale Pick Your Own. They have three times as many pumpkins this year. The team also set up pumpkin pyramids to make it easier for you to choose. The pumpkin patch near Cardiff returns with a huge field of pumpkins, with more than 20 varieties to choose from in all sorts of shapes, colours and sizes. There’s also a fully decorated Pumpkin Barn packed with Halloween decorations and photo opportunities, plus a brand-new New Orleans Bayou Walkthrough for those who fancy something a little creepier.
There’s plenty to make a day of it at Pencoed Fach Organic Farm Shop, including smash burgers and loaded fries from The Littlest Kitchen, ice creams, milkshakes and sweet treats from The Littlest Dairy, The Little Meadow where you can meet the resident animals, and face painting. Pumpkins are available depending on size, and you can choose from pumpkins in the field or pre-picked pumpkins in the barn.

Grab your wheelbarrow and head into the PYO pumpkin patch to choose your favourite, then carve your masterpiece in the carving tent without worrying about the mess. Gower Fresh Pumpkin Festival
Gower Fresh goes all out for Halloween, transforming its farm into a huge Pumpkin Festival with something for both families and thrill-seekers. Your Car Pass gives access to the pumpkin patch, Haunted Trail, reindeer and plenty of autumn photo opportunities, including the Giant Pumpkin House and pumpkin arches.
Children aged 3–12 can also take part in The Witches of the Farm, an actor-led Halloween adventure involving magical quests, characters and a Giant Cauldron Barn finale.
For older visitors, The Harvest Calling takes place on 29–31 October 206, turning the farm into an immersive nighttime horror experience for ages 12 plus, complete with scare actors, themed scare zones, special effects and a chainsaw finale.
