Whether you’re after a relaxed meal or a foodie experience worth writing home about, this is the place to be.

While exploring the Island and discovering everything to do in St Aubins, we stumbled upon Salty Dog, which was an exciting find. It has recently moved premises, but the restaurant has been an Island staple for over 25 years.
We snagged a table outside (because sunshine and sea views are practically compulsory here) and kicked things off with some refreshingly cold pints and cocktails that hit all the right notes. The staff? As warm and friendly as the Jersey sun, making us feel instantly at home.

Salty Dog Restaurant Menu
Browsing the Salty Dog Bar & Bistro Menu, we were spoiled for choice with dishes that promised to please every palate. Ultimately, we settled on sharing plates that screamed “good times”. The protein-loving boys choose finger-licking Bang Bang Chicken Wings with soft meat that falls off the bone, plum sauce and a spicy kick from fresh chillis.

Whilst the girls had the standout star, Duck Empanadas. These little pockets of golden, flaky pastry hugged a rich, slow-cooked duck filling that was an absolute flavour bomb. Served with a vibrant dipping sauce that added just the right zing.
If you’re curious about the Salty Dog Jersey Menu Prices, rest assured, they’re as balanced as the flavours. You’ll find plenty of bang for your buck, whether you’re diving into their famous seafood dishes or exploring the more exotic options on the Salty Dog Bistro Jersey menu. Like the rest of the Island, the Salty Dog Jersey Bistro Menu is more expensive than you’ll find in the UK, but the quality is amazing.

This spot isn’t just for food lovers; it’s also a top choice for those looking for dog-friendly restaurants in Jersey. Your four-legged companions are as welcome as the two-legged ones, making it a hit for those beach strolls with your furry friends.

Where to Stay in St Helier
If you know when you’d like to travel, try to book as soon as possible in advance. Prices rise the closer you get to the travel date. However, there is a vast array of hotels and holiday lets to accommodate all budgets, allowing you to discover Jersey.
Grand Jersey Hotel
Staying at the Grand Hotel Jersey offers an exceptional experience that combines luxury, comfort, and stunning views of St Aubin’s Bay. You may think staying at a 5-star hotel is an unnecessary extravagance. I’m usually happy with a classic, clean, central hotel, but this was totally worth the few extra pounds. When you book 3 nights or more, you get 33% off, and breakfast is included each morning.
The elegant bedroom had a shower and a separate bathtub. The hotel has top-notch amenities, including a luxurious spa, a state-of-the-art gym, and an indoor swimming pool. There’s also a bar, an outdoor terrace bar, and two restaurants. Tassili is a 4 AA Rosette restaurant with a 7-course tasting menu.
Its prime location provides easy access to the island’s main attractions, including a bus stop outside and across the road, making it an ideal base for exploring Jersey’s natural beauty and rich history. The breakfast room also looks across to Elizabeth Castle.

Getting to St Helier in Jersey
St. Helier is easily accessible by air and sea. Jersey Airport, located just a short drive from the town centre, offers regular flights from various UK airports and mainland Europe. Alternatively, you can reach Jersey by ferry from ports in England and France, with regular ferries and sailings throughout the year.
I flew from Bristol on Blue Islands, while our friends were on EasyJet from Manchester. The flight was only 50 minutes, and 23kg of luggage is included as standard (per person), plus your carry-on bag.

Liberty Bus
Liberty Bus is the easiest way to get around Jersey. Having unreliable public transport at home, it was a pleasant surprise. We were thoroughly impressed with our experience. From St Helier, where I stayed, the bus took about 15 minutes.
The bus timetable and app were incredibly user-friendly, making planning our journeys around the island easy. Bus stops were in obvious places. Regardless of the time of day, we could always count on the buses to arrive on schedule, allowing us to explore Jersey easily and confidently. The drivers were super helpful, too. The bus also made exploring the rest of the island’s attractions easy.
Book a Taxi
If you’re travelling and need a reliable airport transfer, I’ve partnered with Welcome Pickups to make the process seamless. This service allows you to easily book a taxi to or from the airport, ensuring a stress-free journey. When heading out on a new adventure, this service offers convenience and comfort at an affordable price so you can focus on enjoying your trip.
