I am a massive fan of slow cooker recipes. I have created this unsmoked gammon joint in a slow cooker recipe using non-alcoholic cider, but it’s exactly the same if you want to use your favourite alcoholic cider. When in the slow cooker, the cider fills the kitchen with a gorgeous aroma of English apples, without the alcohol content. But with all the taste and flavour. The glazed ham is delicious! Plus, it is dairy and gluten-free.

How to Cook Gammon in a Slow Cooker?
Should you put your slow cooker gammon on high or low? It is entirely up to you; adjust your cooking times accordingly and ensure the meat is cooked through.

Recipe: Slow Cooker Gammon Glaze
You can finish your ham recipe in the oven, giving it a sweet and sticky glaze. I like to use golden syrup on my slow cooker gammon. Here’s how to cook gammon joint in slow cooker:
Ingredients
Equipment
Method
- Preheat your oven to 200 degrees
- Make the glaze; mix together the honey, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce. If it is too stiff to stir, you may need a tablespoon or two of boiling water to help mix it all together
- Transfer the gammon to the roasting tin. Score the fat in a criss-cross, and stud with cloves
- Pour over the glaze and roast in the oven for 15-minutes
- Remove the gammon from the oven and baste the gammon. Repeat this 3-4 times, until the fat is caramelised, keeping an eye on it, so it doesnโt burn.
- Leave to rest for at least 15-minutes before carving and serving

Want to Change any of the Ingredients?
When cooking gammon in a slow cooker, this recipe is highly adaptable, allowing you to modify some of the ingredients to suit your taste. Alternatively, you can use alcoholic apple cider. Dry ciders add a depth of flavour, and a perry or fruit cider will add extra sweetness. You can also use apple juice or pineapple juice, or the slow cooker gammon goes well with Diet Coke. When I created this recipe, I usedย Drynks Unlimited Smashed Cider 0.0%ย

Good Stuff Drinks
Good Stuff Drinks sells low alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. We know that alcohol is high in calories, increases your appetite, breaks down your willpower to make good food choices, and delays recovery after exercise. The brand was created to continue the pleasures of drinking alcohol without the guilt.
Many of us have worried that we have been drinking too much in lockdown, and have searched for no-alcohol alternatives. For me, losing weight has meant that consuming alcohol means wasted calories and inevitably leads me to overeat. Thanks to Good Stuff Drinks, it means I donโt have to give up my favourite – Rosรฉ Wine.
For those who followย Slimming Worldย like me, I have put the Syn values in brackets.

The Non-Alcoholic Wines
Torres Natureo Rosรฉย is gluten-free, alcohol-free, and contains 75 calories per 250ml glass. It is sweet, almost like a Zinfandel, and is excellent served with food or enjoyed on its own. It actually tastes like wine and not an alternative. (3.5 Syns per 250ml glass or 11.5 Syns for the whole bottle)
Black Tower Rosรฉย has less than 0.5% alcohol and is my favourite. It is a little drier, but incredibly fruity, with strawberry and blackberry being the standout flavours. Again, it tastes like an alcoholic drink, so you do not feel like you are missing out. It is 60 calories for a large glass. (3 Syns per 250ml glass, the whole bottle is 9 Syns)
Belle & Co Sparkling Rosรฉ is full of fizz, so it is one for a celebration. The perfect pink accompaniment to brunch or for kickstarting the weekend. It is 55 calories for a large glass. It is delightfully sweet and tastes like pop rather than alcohol. (2.5 Syns per 250ml glass, or 8.5 Syns for the whole bottle)
Disclaimer: I received the cider and bottles of wine from Good Stuff Drinks in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. I only work with brands that I like and think youโll love too!
