I wanted to start the new year by sharing some good news. For the second year running, I have won the Best Feature Blog at the House 21 Awards. So, I’m an award winning blogger.

I’m an award winning blogger
At the beginning of November, I had a notification that I had been shortlisted as a finalist at the House 21 Awards 2020. Along with the other nominees, we had to wait patiently for the awards ceremony, which took place on Sunday 6th December. Unsurprisingly, like the majority of 2020, the event took place online.
Since March, thanks to furlough, I have spent most days in comfy clothes, no makeup, and a messy bun. I was so excited for the event, I whacked on the slap and a festive sequinned top.
The House 21 Blogger Awards
The blog post up for the award was for a review I did for Woo Woo. One of the most exciting things about being a blogger is that I have been introduced to so many companies that I would not have come across in my “normal” life. I am now a massive fan of the Woo Woo products, especially the In Shower Intimate Hair Remover and the Cranberry body wash.
I love some of the wordplay I used in the blog post, and this was mentioned by the award category judge Donna, one of the founders of House 21. At the awards, she told a fantastic story. Her husband had discovered a post I wrote on my village being flooded earlier in the year. I was extremely flattered to hear that he was moved by the piece, and even thought I should send it to the press to publish. He went on to read more of my blog posts, but quickly stopped when he read, “Is your lady garden as smooth as a dolphin’s nose?

I love being a blogger, but have you got what it takes?
Whether you are writing about food, mental health, or travel, an online blog will document your life, increase your knowledge, expand your friend base, and even earn you a living. My blog, Real Girls Wobble, is a therapeutic outlet for my passions and emotions. I use it to share industry news and support brands and business by promoting their products.
The amount of content being created daily online is staggering. To date, there are more than 500 million blogs out of 1.7 billion websites in the world. Their authors account for over 2 million blog posts daily.
Blogging requires hard work, consistency and above all, passion. Bloggers spend hours researching, writing, refining and marketing their content. If you don’t enjoy the job, it will come across in your writing. Bloggers are just one type of digital influencer. While the core focus is on the written word, many bloggers also take high-quality photos, be website designers and social media savvy – plus a whole host of other skills.

A massive thank you to you!
I know everyone says it, but I really didn’t expect to win the award again this year. Over the last 12 months, there has been an influx of bloggers joining the House 21 community. They are all so talented, and I have enjoyed reading all of the high-quality content they are producing. I was just happy to be recognised.
Thank you to every single person who has read my blog posts, left a comment, subscribed to updates, and followed me on social media. I really don’t take any of it for granted, and get excited when I see each notification. I put a lot of love into my blog, I enjoy sitting with my laptop on my knee and writing my ramblings.
Whoa, I guess you do fall in the category of bloggers who also take wonderful pictures. I can only focus on words for the life of me, lol. Congrats on your award!
That’s really great to hear – cheers! I prefer writing too. Thanks for the kind words
Congrats, Katrina!!
Thank you very much
Congratulations, Katrina! I am so happy for you.
