A True Taste of Wales – Afternoon Tea at Future Inn Cardiff

Did you say sandwiches and cakes, with a Welsh theme? Yes, please!

On Thursday 10th January, I attended a bloggers event at Future Inns in Cardiff Bay which re-launched their afternoon tea offering.  When it comes to indulging on a finger sandwich and scone you are quite literally spoilt for choice in Cardiff.

What is most impressive about the Taste of Wales Afternoon Tea, apart from the price, was that it is homemade.  You always know when cakes have been bought in, or added too, cut up, etc so it makes such a difference when they are made from scratch and only have to travel a few metres from the kitchen to your table.

Vintage for Victory Festival in Cardiff

With an era-inspired pin curl in my hair, bright red lips and a naval uniform style dress; I headed to Library Gardens in Whitchurch, Cardiff to the Vintage for Victory weekend festival ready for a trip down memory lane.

The throwback event is in its third year and celebrates all that is great from the 40’s to 60’s.  Plus 10% of all ticket sales are donated to Cancer Research Wales – one of the leading cancer charities in the country and who are based at Velindre Hospital behind the gardens.

BITE Cardiff Food Festival at Insole Court

Viewing from my lounger on the beach in Gran Canaria, my social media streams were full of delicious-looking food as the BITE Cardiff Food Festival team teased pictures of the fantastic food that could be sampled on the lead up to the event.

The event was held on Saturday 14th July 2018 at Insole Court between 12 noon and 10pm.  It was advertised as a ‘food festival with a difference’ and focused on high-quality dishes and no fast food, and no entrance fee.  The Chef’s were given the challenge of creating a single dish to sell for £3 each.
