Ivan is my rescue dog. He came into my life in December 2020, in the middle of lockdown, as a terrified little boy. Whether he likes it or not, he’s by my side throughout the day. I even take him on staycation. It’s important to me to make nutritious meals to power my body to climb mountains – I live in Wales, after all – or just for general wellness. So, shouldn’t our dogs expect the same?

Dried Dog Food Review
Pure Pet Food has different meals available. They include chicken delicious, turkey terrific, duck delight, fish supper, brilliant beef and vegi plus mixer. Meals are nutritionally balanced and include green beans, carrots, potatoes, apples, parsnips, cabbage, brewers yeast, and minerals.
Ivan loves wet food; however, the vet believes he picked up a virus as a puppy while living on Bosnia’s streets. So, he occasionally has blood in his poop. I’ve found including dry food in his meals has significantly reduced that. He’s also not a big treat lover – I know, unheard of, right? I always give him one after our daily walk. Sometimes he eats it; sometimes, he doesn’t. He always eats treats when we take him to one of the dog-friendly pubs in Cardiff, though!
If your dog dislikes a particular recipe, you can remove recipes from your rotation by adjusting your meal plan. Another option to consider is freeze-dried meals such as Nutra Complete, which offer raw-like nutrition in a convenient form, ensuring your pet receives nutrient-dense food without the need for refrigeration.
Is Pure pet food raw?
Raw dog food has increased in popularity over the last few years. However, Pure pet food is not raw. To serve, you mix with water to give them a freshly ground texture and taste.
How much does Pure pet food cost?
Unfortunately, it’s not easy to find the cost of Pure Pet Food unless you put in your dogs’ details. For Ivan I had to tick things like being male, neutered, just the right body size, active mixed breed dog, weighing 15kgs, with no allergies. You’ll have to do the quiz separately if you have several dogs.
Pure Pet Food Review: My monthly plan is £65 per month. Making it £2.09 per day. Which I think is affordable.
Currently, I spend around £50 a month on Ivan’s food which I purchase from various pet brands at Pets at Home. Could it be better quality? Yes, of course, but with our current finances, this isn’t possible. My monthly cost also includes extras like fresh meat, tins of sardines, and any treats when out and about. Such as dog ice cream and puppuccinos.
However, this could be an ideal one-off purchase if you are travelling or going on a staycation. The daily boxes are compact, labelled, and easy to store and carry. Instead of taking lots of different containers of food, dry food bags and treats, this would be the perfect solution.
