At the start of the initial lockdown, especially when flour and yeast were hard to come by, a friend introduced me to the baking club subscription. I love baking but often lack the inspiration to try new recipes or those out of my comfort zone. But, want to know what I think of it? Here’s my BakedIn baking club review.

Firstly, I love having food delivered to my home; it’s the best kind of post to receive. These baking kits fit perfectly through the letterbox. The baking club boxes are ideal if you want to make cake and bread at home. In addition, it is an easy way to develop skills and is a waste free way to try something new.
Best Baking Subscription Box UK
Subscription boxes are hardly a new phenomenon, whether it is a beauty box like Birchbox or a weekly food delivery like Hello Fresh. But, BakedIn the baking club offers something a little different with a club subscription for cakes or bread. Dry ingredients and baking paper are delivered to your door every month. In addition, a recipe card and a list of any other fresh ingredients you may need.
For instance, all of the ingredients come in bags that are pre-measured and numbered. It means that you do not need to rummage through the cupboards or buy expensive ingredients that you only need a small amount of. In other words, there is less waste, and you won’t be left with half-full bags of excess ingredients you may never use again.
The step-by-step instructions are foolproof, along with the timings and temperatures too. The team have clearly tested each month subscription, so you can do it accurately the first time. I haven’t had a lousy bake yet and even had happy friends and family when I decided to share. If for any reason you are struggling, however, there are easy to follow videos online too.
BakedIn Bread Baking Club
The BakedIn bread subscription is relatively new. It only launched in September 2020, and the reviews have been positive. In other words, you can fill your kitchen with the gorgeous smell of fresh bread. Previous recipes have included Poppy Seed Bagels, Garlic and Rosemary Focaccia, Pumpkin and Sunflower Seed Bloomer and Honey Wheat Baguettes.
The Baking Club Recipes
My first box was purchased in April 2020. I couldn’t wait to see what was in that months baking subscription box UK. I was so pleased with the Carrot Cake Whoopie Pies arrived.
Some of my favourite BakedIn recipes have been the BakedIn pear and frangipane tart, where I even made pastry from scratch. Something I haven’t done for some time, usually buying premade from the supermarket. The Lemon and Blueberry Biscotti, Chocolate and Pecan Millionaire Squares, Chocolate Brookies and the Butterscotch Popcorn Poke Cake were also much loved.
At Christmas, there was a BakedIn Gingerbread House which they called a Winter Spice Cake. The only one of the BakedIn kits that is still sitting in the cupboard is the Soft Pretzels. I admire people who have the patience to make bread, but I don’t. As the pretzels use yeast and require time to rest and rise, I haven’t found the time to do it yet.
