In November, Birchbox reminded us that we are all beautiful. In addition, we are the star of the show. “Remember, that you’re the cover girl, because you are so much more than pretty, you’re pretty smart, pretty kind, pretty funny, pretty strong – this month and every month.”
What’s in the box?
This month the box was delivered in a box with a silhouette of a lady on it.
Realher – I Will Succeed Liquid Lipstick
I love that Realher uses positive affirmations as the shade name. I Will Succeed is a pink/brown shade – or blushing nude as they call it. It dries really quickly and is long-lasting, just a little top up needed after eating or drinking. It is a bit drying, so you will need to put a bit of lip balm or Vasaline on afterwards.

ModelCo – Highlighting Shimmer Whip
As the highlighter is liquid it is easy to build up and easy to blend. So, a tiny bit goes a long way. It looks great on cheekbones and even as an eyeshadow. But, would I use this all year round? Yes, it’s not just in the festive months. It was the best product sent in November’s Birchbox.

Vitamasques – 3 Step Super Blossam Hydrating Facial
Ok, honesty time… I haven’t used this yet. As I have only worn a full face of make up a handful of days since the start of lockdown back in March, my skin is in great condition. I have put this in my draw ready for when my skin needs some TLC. You start with a scrub, apply a biodegradable sheet mask for 20-minutes, and then finish with a super hydrating moisturiser.

Philip Kingsley – Finishing Touch Polishing Serum
I have had a few Philip Kingsley products with my Birchbox subscription. So, my hair is very thin. Therefore, using products tend to weigh it down, make it look greasy or make it harder to manage (if you can believe it!?). Honestly, I’m not sure if I will use this one. I’ll probably end up giving it away.

Birchbox – Pocket Mirror
The pocket mirror comes in a pink leatherette holder. It has a message inscribed on the back of the mirror; Pretty great, Pretty smart, Pretty funny, Pretty strong. Great message, but do we need a pocket mirror at this time? I’m sorry Birchbox, but I’m calling you out on this one! I can count the number of times I’ve left the house since March on one hand. In other words, I think they weren’t selling and they decided to add them to the box. When I finally go back to the office, it may be handy.

What is a Birchbox subscription?
Each month you are sent at least 5 beauty products. You pay monthly but have to sign up to 3, 6 or 12 months.
Can you customise Birchbox?
To a certain extent, you can customise your Birchbox. There is a survey which will tell the team what type of skin you have, your hair and other preferences.
What does Birchbox send?
It is a mix of make-up, skincare and haircare. It is a great chance to try new brands and products.
Are Birchbox products full size?
You get at least one full-size product in each monthly box.
What size are Birchbox samples?
They are all different sizes. They range from something you can use once or a few times. Occasionally you get a deluxe size item, it’s bigger than a sample, but not quite full-size.
Is Birchbox worth it?
I think so, I have been receiving them since November 2017. Above all, it is an excellent opportunity to try out or be introduced to new brands and products. Subscribers also get 10% of the products you have had in your box from the online shop. Once you have been a subscriber for 6 months, you become a Birchbox VIP with additional benefits.
How to cancel Birchbox
So, it’s straightforward to cancel your subscription. Simply log in to your account, and under the “Subscriptions” tab, you will find the cancellation procedure. Can I cancel my Birchbox at any time? Yes, you can. However, plans cannot be paused, and monthly boxes cannot be skipped.
