Period swimwear is a game-changer, and I’m pretty thrilled about it!
The first time I wore the menstrual swimwear, I wondered if they would work. I thought they would when chilling by the pool, but I was worried that I would have blood running down my leg after a dip in the water. Of course, these worries were unnecessary.
What I love most is that it looks like a regular bathing suit. The treated nylon outer fabric is sleek, smooth and sexy. There’s no way of telling that there’s anything special about them. When I told the friend I was with, she was shocked. I wore it on a spa day; we spent about 90 minutes chatting in the water and had no issues.
Because the outer fabric is water-repellent, it stops the water from absorbing inside the swimsuit. Cheeky recommends having a good fit around your legs to prevent any gaping when moving.
The best period swimwear UK is reusable, so washing them is easy. Pop them in the machine wash cold. No hotter than 30 degrees as it can impact the waterproof nature of the material. Like period pants, you shouldn’t use fabric softener or bleach. (I use the scented beads, not sure if this is the correct thing to do, but they smell fresh)
Although the bathers feel like they were designed and made with love, my only gripe is that the body needs to be longer. But this is an issue I have with most bathers. I’m tall, and I have a long torso. However, I find once the Cheeky bathers are wet, they stretch and fit a lot better, and when it dries, it stays in place. So, a bit snug to begin with.
