Ad | Lands’ End is a clothing brand which deserves more recognition. They produce long-lasting, quality garments at affordable prices. From classic jumpers to tops, jeans and dresses to activewear and cashmere knitwear. So, what did I think of my cashmere jumper for ladies?
Who are Lands’ End UK?
Lands End is an everyday clothing online shop, including footwear, bags and accessories. You can choose sweaters, t-shirts, blazers and jackets for men, women and children. The pricing is more mid to high-end, but Lands’ End Clothing is known for being high-quality and long-lasting. More excitingly, Lands’ End is known for including plus sizes.
Lands’ End Women’s Jumpers
Choosing my winter cashmere jumper was difficult. I’m always racked with indecision. The roll-neck jumper had interesting winter patterns. In contrast, the funnel neck had some bright colours. The crew neck cashmere jumper tempted me; however, I like a jumper to cover my bum. So, I settled on the cowl neck. Again, there is a range of colours, but I decided on Pearl Grey Heather Donegal as this will go with dark trousers or jeans.
The cowl jumpers range between £280-300. But, they are currently in sale for £140-150. Saving 50%!
What surprised me most was how lightweight the sweater was. I expected it to be heavy and thick. I am also pleased to confirm that it is not itchy, so you don’t need to wear a long sleeve top underneath to stop the irritation. As a hot person, a jumper is enough for me on a cold day. However, if you feel the cold, the jumper is light enough to layer without feeling bulky.
Naturally, it feels luxurious. However, it is not soft; it feels more like cotton. The cowl collar has a graceful drape, and the long line flatters my length and curves. As it is a classic style, I can wear it year in and year out when the cold weather descends.
Plus Size Knitwear UK
If you need a bigger size or like to order a size up for your jumper, you’re in luck. Lands End Ladies Sweaters are sized 6-8, 10-12, 14-16, 18-20, 22-24 and 26-28. I am a size 20, so I ordered UK 18-20. As I’m on the bigger end of the size, and with an ample chest, I was nervous that it wouldn’t be big enough. As you can see, the cowl-neck jumper is roomy. I could have sized down and worn it as a more fitted style.
Lands End Ladies Sweaters: Customer Service
The website is straightforward to navigate. From ordering to delivery, the process was seamless. The items are shipped to your home. I got regular – but not annoying – updates on when I should expect the delivery. In fact, it only took three days to arrive! However, if you order before 1pm, next-day delivery is also an option.
Looking after Cashmere
Cashmere is technically a wool but comes from a specific breed of goat rather than sheep. Its fibres are much finer and lighter. Cashmere has impressive insulating properties. It can be warmer than wool but also lightweight and breathable.
Good quality cashmere can last for decades when taken care of properly. If I’m completely honest, the thought of washing my Lands End Jumper by hand put me off. However, it didn’t take as long as I thought it would. I filled the sink with cool water and detergent. Gently squeeze the water through the garment. Refilling the sink a few times until the water runs clear. It would be best if you did not wring or twist the fabric. The jumper was laid on a towel and rolled up, pressing lightly to remove excess water. You should not hang the jumper up either; it must lay flat to dry, away from radiators and sunlight.
However, I have also heard that you can roll the garment up in a plastic bag and freeze it overnight. Apparently, this kills bacteria and odours. You can spray it with a fabric freshener when you remove it from the freezer. I haven’t tried this – yet.
