We booked a five-night holiday and ended up with stunning sea views, brilliant food, multiple pools, fun entertainment and one of the most relaxing holidays we’ve had in years. Whether you’re travelling as a family, couple or multi-generational group, the resort has everything you need for a sunshine escape to keep everyone happy.

Calas De Mallorca Hotel
I booked a holiday at Alua Calas De Mallorca Resort needing sunshine, a reset and approximately zero stress. What I did not expect was to come home raving about one of the best value holidays I’ve ever booked.
Alua Calas De Mallorca Resort Prices: Our five-night stay at Alua Calas De Mallorca Resort in May 2026 cost just £467 per person with EasyJet Holidays, including flights from Bristol, sitting together on the plane, hotel, transfers (which took around an hour), and 23kg luggage. We also paid £28.62 in Tourist Tax. Honestly? I’ve spent more on disappointing UK staycations.
Considering the price and the fact that it was a very last-minute booking, my expectations were fairly low. I just wanted sun, a pool and a break from real life. Instead, we got a genuinely brilliant holiday. For the first time, 4 stars meant 4 stars.
This place is ideal for families, couples, friendship groups and multi-generational trips where one person wants aqua aerobics, one wants sangria, one wants to sit quietly reading a Kindle, and one wants to head to the beach.
First Impressions Of The Resort
The hotel is split across two modern buildings, and thankfully, it looks exactly like the photos online. No suspicious “best room only” marketing shots here.
We arrived around 11.45am and were immediately handed a pink Prosecco. Excellent start! Miraculously, our room was already ready too, which felt like winning the holiday lottery.
The atmosphere instantly felt relaxed, clean and modern without being pretentious. It’s definitely one of those hotels where you walk in and immediately think, “Oh… this is actually nice.”
The sea views throughout the resort are absolutely stunning too.
Calas De Mallorca Resort Hotel Bedrooms
We stayed in a Seafront Double Room with Balcony, and honestly, the view alone was worth the money. If you can, upgrade to a sea view room; you won’t be disappointed.
The room was spacious, clean and simple in the best possible way. Nothing overly fancy, but everything we needed. The bathroom had a massive shower, a large vanity unit and decent toiletries – hand wash, body wash and shampoo – in wall-mounted pumps.
Can we also take a moment for the size of the towels? As a curvy girl, when a hotel towel wraps fully around you, it deserves recognition. Five stars purely for towel coverage.
The room included:
- Huge comfortable beds (two singles pushed together)
- Air-conditioning – which you can adjust.
- Fridge – ideal if you’re travelling with medication
- Desk and chair
- Sofa and coffee table
- Plenty of shelves and storage
- Safe (€3.50 per day, which I think is disgusting, should be free)
- Plug sockets beside the bed
- Balcony with chairs and table
We did need extra pillows. I requested them in the morning, and housekeeping added them during room refresh.
One evening, we sat out on the balcony drinking a bottle of Prosecco I’d won during one of the entertainment games while playing cards overlooking the sea. Honestly, one of those unexpectedly lovely holiday moments.
The TV also had English channels, including BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Not that you go to Mallorca to watch television, but it was handy background noise while getting ready.
Alua Calas De Mallorca Resort All Inclusive Drinks
The all-inclusive offering genuinely surprised me.
It rained on the afternoon we arrived – because apparently, we accidentally brought British weather with us – we decided to fully commit.
Every evening, we ended up sitting around the Reception Bar before dinner and again after the entertainment. It became our little routine.
There’s also a Sports Bar, though we only used it once to watch football. I didn’t like the seating in here because it’s plastic.
Included drinks featured:
- Red, white and rosé wine
- White, pink and blue Prosecco (yep!)
- San Miguel on tap
- Blackthorn cider on tap
- Sangria
- Local spirits
- Pre-mixed cocktails
- Cocktail of the day
Cocktails came from machines rather than free pouring, but they were still decent enough. Think Piña Coladas, Strawberry Daiquiris and Tequila Sunrises with lots of crushed ice.
Premium cocktails like mojitos, branded spirits and bottled beers weren’t included, but you can purchase these. Obviously, we didn’t.
Calas De Mallorca Complex All Inclusive – Food
Frequent readers will know I can be a bit of a food snob. At home, I don’t eat at chain restaurants; I prefer local, independent ones. I want it cooked from scratch, and no ping meals. So, I fully expected “standard all-inclusive beige buffet syndrome.”
But honestly? The food was really good.
Breakfast
Breakfast was probably my least favourite meal, though still perfectly fine. I mostly had fried eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and toast. Yes, they had “English” sausages. There’s even a microwave if you need to reheat food. My mum would have loved this, as she has her food steaming.
There’s also:
- Pastries
- Fruit
- Cereals
- Cold meats and cheeses
- Tea and coffee
- Juice stations
- Nesquik for children
Snack Bars
The snack bars around the resort were also surprisingly good. They open after breakfast, close during lunch, and reopen after lunch service ends.
The pool snack bar served filled baguettes, fruit, pastries and freshly made tortillas in the morning. In the afternoon, there are burgers.
I never actually visited the second snack bar near the Sports Bar, but I believe they served the same things.
Lunch
Lunches were excellent. I mostly stuck to grilled meats or fish with salad, but there were also:
- Grilled meats and fish (cooked live in front of you)
- Paella
- Huge salad selection
- Pizza – mozzarella or pepperoni
- Pasta stations – cooked to order
- Bread selections
- Cold meat and cheese
- Vegan and vegetarian dishes
- Fresh fruit
- Cakes and ice cream
Dinner
Dinner was where the hotel really impressed me.
There are two buffet restaurants, each with different nightly themes. Outside during the day, a pop-up banner will show the evening menus so you can decide where to eat.
Themes I saw included, there may be more:
- Mediterranean
- Mexican
- Moroccan
- Seafood nights
- Asian
- Italian
- International (yeah, I’m not sure what that is either!)
But the standout? Sushi night. Twice during our stay, a sushi master hand-rolled sushi fresh in front of guests, and it was genuinely amazing. We felt very lucky to get that twice. It was lush, too!
I was also impressed by the meat selection. Most all-inclusive hotels rotate chicken, pork and mystery white fish endlessly. I also saw duck legs, salmon, mussels, and beef dishes. No prawns though, which I would have loved.
Desserts weren’t the strongest part of the buffet. Lots of mousse/trifle-style desserts in different colours and flavours. To be fair, this probably saved me from eating my body weight in unnecessary calories.
Allergy Information and Food Labelling
This is one area that definitely needs improvement.
If you have allergies, I’d strongly recommend speaking directly to staff rather than relying on labels. I observed cross-contamination from guests using serving utensils incorrectly, and some dishes weren’t properly labelled.
I’m intolerant to nuts and accidentally picked up a potato salad that had walnuts in it. Luckily, it’s not severe for me, but I’m glad I spotted it before eating it.
Some translations were also questionable. One food label literally said, “secret meat.” I still don’t know what that means.
Daily Collagen Sachets
One thing I loved taking away with me was my Ancient + Brave collagen supplement. Their travel sachets made it so easy to maintain my daily routine without carrying huge tubs in my luggage. They’re perfect for holidays – just pop a sachet into your hand luggage or beach bag and add to your morning coffee or water before heading to the pool.
The Pools and Sunbed Wars
There are five pools in total:
- Four outdoor pools
- Indoor pool next to the gym
- Splash areas for children
We mostly stayed around the main pool. After my morning gym sessions at around 8am, I’d head straight to claim loungers, and even then, it could be difficult getting good spots. The hotel removes towels if beds are left unattended for too long, which was actually refreshing to see. But I only saw this being done around 10am. You definitely need to be organised.
Pool towels are available, though the system is unnecessarily complicated. You pay a €20 cash deposit per towel at Reception, receive a receipt and a card. You then exchange the card at the towel desk by the main pool. If you want a clean towel, you pay €1 for a replacement at Reception, then take the card to the pool to get the towel. You get the deposit back. Slightly faffy.
Pool bars use reusable plastic cup systems, too. You receive one token per person at check-in, which you can swap for a plastic cup. It is changed each time you order a drink. At the end of the day, you get your token back. Again, slightly faffy.
The bars open at 10.30am, but there are water refill stations and coffee machines available earlier. Important information for fellow iced coffee addicts: it costs €3.50.
The public toilets around the pool areas were cleaned constantly.
Alua Calas De Mallorca Resort Beach
I had every intention of becoming one of those effortlessly relaxed beach girls on this holiday. I packed outfits. And I planned walks. But I never actually made it to the beach.
But there are two nearby beaches:
- Cala Antena Beach – around 5 minutes away, with steep steps down
- Cala Domingos Beach – around 10 minutes away, a larger Blue Flag beach with soft sandy areas and crystal-clear water.
The Gym
I actually used the gym most mornings to sweat out the previous day’s sangria. It isn’t huge, but it has enough equipment for a decent holiday workout:
- Two treadmills
- Two cross trainers
- Weight machines
- Free weights
The hand weights were all heavy, which might frustrate some weak people like me. I think the lightest was 7.5lbs.
There’s air conditioning, hand towels and a water cooler too.
The Entertainment
The entertainment team work hard.
If you sit around the main pool, prepare to become emotionally involved in activities you swore you’d never participate in – even if it’s just watching and cheering on.
There’s a whole program of events, including:
- Yoga
- Pilates
- French bowls
- Table tennis
- Darts
- Aqua aerobics
- Competitions and games
- Kids’ activities, including t-shirt painting and treasure hunts
- Quizzes
- Bingo
- Cocktail making
Evening entertainment genuinely exceeded expectations, too. Whilst we were there, there was karaoke – I did not take part, but I was genuinely joyous watching some of the car crashes, quizzes which you take part in using your mobile, live bands, and Flamenco shows. I would have paid tickets to see the Soul and Motown Show – they were incredible!
The entertainment area fills quickly, though, so get there early if you want decent seats. We usually ended up dragging chairs from elsewhere and sitting near the back by the bar.
My Favourite Club
Adults travelling as a couple or group can upgrade to the “My Favourite Club” before arrival. For us, it wasn’t necessary during May. But in peak summer season, I can absolutely see the appeal if you want quieter areas and guaranteed space.
This includes:
- Private lounge
- Snacks and drinks (including bottled beer)
- Private restaurant area
- Private pool
- Better sun loungers
- Superior room
- Late check-out – handy if you have an evening flight
Alua Calas De Mallorca Resort Nearest Town
The nearest town is Calas de Mallorca itself, and I did manage one wander into town during our stay, which takes about 10 minutes. There are restaurants (though they didn’t look very exciting), British/Irish-themed pubs, shops, crazy golf, and a tiny petting zoo with goats, pigs, and geese. You can purchase food for them at The New Inn.
If you want more nightlife or shopping, Cala d’Or is about €25 each way in a taxi or reachable by bus. It’s known for white Ibiza-style buildings, a luxury marina, sandy coves and stylish restaurants.
Discover Cars
If you fancy exploring more of Majorca, hiring a car is a great option. If you book through Discover Cars, you can pick it up and drop it off at Palma Airport. Which makes everything really straightforward after landing. The hotel also offers free parking, so you won’t need to worry about extra costs once you arrive. Whilst we barely left the resort this time, having a car would make it easy to visit places like Cala d’Or, Porto Cristo and some of the island’s stunning sandy beaches and hidden coves.
Check-Out And Late Flights
Check-out is at 12pm. Luggage storage is available near Reception. The hotel information leaflet says your all-inclusive wristband gets cut off at check-out, but ours weren’t removed.
Late check-out can only be requested on the day only and costs €60 – €80. Which I think is obscene. It didn’t even cost that much for a night! If there’s a large group of you, keeping one room where you can take turns to freshen up may be helpful. However…
I stayed around the pool until our 4pm transfer. I used the gym showers to wash off the sunscreen and freshen up before travelling home, which worked perfectly fine. This is free! I used my pool towel, but as I’ve previously mentioned, you could get a towel from inside the gym – if needed. There are no plug sockets in here, so you won’t be able to blow-dry or straighten hair.
Other Helpful Things To Know
A few random but useful bits:
- The lifts are painfully slow. There are only two lifts servicing nine floors. They also aren’t very big. They do fit a pram, wheelchair, or mobility aid, but then only 2/3 people.
- There’s a small on-site shop with cigarettes, cold drinks, crisps, pool inflatables and souvenirs.
- Beautiful jewellery by Reception that you can purchase at affordable prices.
- Bug spray – I’m someone who always gets bitten. They find me! But, on this trip, I didn’t get one bite, so you probably don’t need bands, citronella or jungle spray.
- Accessibility – There are 16 dedicated adapted rooms for disabled guests, featuring accessible entrances. There are ramps all over the resort. I walked on these, and they are steep. I believe it would be difficult to push or pull yourself in a wheelchair. The main pool has a pool hoist that looks in good condition, but I didn’t see it in use. And, as previously mentioned, lifts are small and slow.

If you’re looking for a relaxed, good-value Spanish holiday with beautiful sea views, decent food, great entertainment and enough pools to keep everyone happy, this place is absolutely worth considering.
Is it ultra luxury? No. Is it a solid, fun, genuinely enjoyable holiday hotel that massively exceeded expectations? Absolutely.
This Calas De Mallorca Resort works brilliantly for families, couples and groups who want sunshine without having to constantly leave the hotel.
And honestly? Sometimes that’s exactly the kind of holiday you need.
