Waterfront Westward Ho Reviews
While the Westward Ho! Area is dotted with delightful village pubs, The Waterfront Inn may not immediately catch your eye. But don’t be fooled by appearances. The food here is a pleasant surprise, cooked fresh, served hot, and bursting with flavour.
The Waterfront Westward Ho Menu
Mike’s hunger reached epic proportions after an exhilarating day cheering on our team during the Six Nations and perhaps indulging in one too many pints. The 12oz Texas Bacon Burger was a towering. With two beef patties, smoky streaky bacon, melted Swiss Emmental, and tangy BBQ sauce in a floured bap with fresh leaf garnish.
However, the dish that truly stole the spotlight was Harry’s Sticky Chilli Beef. This Chinese-inspired creation featured tender beef strips enveloped in a luscious sticky chilli sauce that really packed a punch. Accompanying the beef was a mound of fluffy, steaming rice, perfect for soaking up the rich sauce, and a side of crispy prawn crackers that added a satisfying crunch to the meal.
Waterfront Westward Ho Curry Night
All you can eat Devon! For those with a penchant for spices, Curry Night is an event not to be missed on the last Friday of the month between 5.30pm and 8pm. Offering an all-you-can-eat selection of delectable curries prepared by skilled Indian chefs. And the best part? It’s only £17.50 per person, a steal for the quality and quantity of food you’ll enjoy.

Sunday Carvery Devon
This Bideford bar offers a sumptuous carvery every Sunday from 12pm to 7pm. Guests can enjoy a selection of freshly oven-roasted joints, complemented by a variety of locally sourced vegetables, roasted potatoes, and traditional accompaniments. The carvery is priced at £14.50 per person. No reservations are required; simply arrive and indulge in a hearty meal.

A short distance away, Westward Ho! is celebrated for its expansive sandy beach backed by a distinctive pebble ridge. The village’s name is derived from Charles Kingsley’s 1855 novel, and it remains a popular destination for surfing and seaside holidays.
Barnstable
Barnstable is the largest town in North Devon and a riverport. It is known for its Victorian, Medieval, and Georgian architecture. The historic Pannier Market is a highlight. Here, you can browse a wide range of local produce, crafts, and antiques. The Museum of Barnstable and North Devon is also a highlight.
Ilfracombe
Ilfracombe is a charming seaside resort and civil parish located on the North Devon coast of England. The town features a small harbour surrounded by cliffs.
