18 – 22 November 2025

For a unique twist, the Donald Gordan Theatre is presenting A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong – a hilarious, chaotic spin on the classic Charles Dickens tale. Get The Watertaxi

One of the most scenic ways to reach Cardiff Bay is by boat! Hop aboard the water taxi from Bute Park in the city centre and enjoy a relaxing 25-minute cruise along the River Taff, taking in landmarks like the Principality Stadium before arriving right outside the Wales Millennium Centre.

Panto New Theatre Cardiff

6 December 2025 – 4 January 2026

One of the capital’s most iconic pantos returns with Sleeping Beauty, complete with colourful characters, big laughs and magical staging. This long-standing favourite promises cosy nostalgia and spectacular production value.

Returning to the stage for a spellbinding adventure are presenter Gethin Jones as Prince Gethin, beloved broadcaster Owain Wyn Evans as the Spirit of Pantomime, and Cardiff’s best-loved panto dame Mike Doyle as Nurse Nellie. They will be joined by returning stars Jack Ryan and Jalisa Phoenix-Roberts as Muddles and Carabosse, and Welsh musical theatre star Emma Kirk as Princess Aurora.

Panto at The Riverfront Newport

5 December 2025 – 2 January 2026

This year’s festive show at The Riverfront brings the beloved Rapunzel story to life with laugh-out-loud characters and magical moments. Wicked sorceress Ceridwen casts a dark spell over Newport and traps Rapunzel in a tower deep in the Welsh forest. On the eve of her 21st birthday, Rapunzel meets Hector, sets about her escape, and the adventure begins. Can the spell be broken before time runs out, or will Ceridwen claim the royal throne and rule Newport forever?

Adventure awaits in the Coliseum Theatre in Aberdare with a giant-sized production of Jack & The Beanstalk. Expect dazzling visuals, catchy songs, and a great mix of familiar faces and fresh talent. 

Follow the tale of poor Jack, sent to market by his mother to sell the family’s treasured cow. Little does he know that swapping dear Caroline for a bag of magic beans will lead to an adventure he will never forget! With a castle in the clouds, a golden hen and a larger-than-life beanstalk with a very mean giant at the top of it, this traditional family panto is full of magical special effects, spectacular scenery and giant-sized comedy.

Panto Swansea

6 December 2025 – 4 January 2026

Swansea’s annual panto is always a blockbuster, and Aladdin for 2025 is set to deliver plenty of sparkle. Snow White in Carmarthenshire

11 – 29 December 2025

At the Lyric Theatre, you can see Snow White this Christmas. A magical retelling of a well-loved classic, this panto delivers fun, fantasy, and festive joy for audiences of all ages. Packed with dazzling costumes, toe-tapping songs, belly-laughs, and plenty of panto mischief.

Snow White, a kind and beautiful princess, is forced to flee when her jealous stepmother, the Evil Queen, plots against her. Deep in the enchanted forest, she finds friendship with seven lovable dwarves. With laughter, magic, and true love’s kiss, good triumphs over evil in this classic panto adventure.

10 – 31 December 2025

This one deserves special attention – because I’ll be there on Saturday 13 December 2025! Aladdin is set to be a huge hit, starring Welsh Rugby legend Gareth Thomas, Drew Baker, Rhys Williams and Tom Dyer. The Big Pembs Panto is known for its high-energy staging, brilliant humour, and warm community feel. If you’re planning a festive getaway to Pembrokeshire, this is one to add straight to your book list for Christmas 2025.
