There are many reasons why you might need to have a personalized rucksack. You might work or volunteer at school and want the school’s logo on it. You may use these backpacks to raise funds. Or want the kids to have them when they go on a trip or represent the school in sporting events.

Maybe you work for a travel agency. Where customers who purchase certain vacation packages will receive a backpack with their purchase. Or you manage a campground. Hand out a personalized backpack to everyone who signs up and fill it up with fun gear. In short, there are countless reasons why you may be looking to create personalized backpacks, but you may not have any idea where to start. Let’s find out.
Start By Choosing a Backpack Style
These days, there is no need for you to settle for the traditional backpack style with the two straps that allow it to hang comfortably on your back. You may also go for sling bags with only one strap and a trendier look or messenger bags that can be hung in the back or to the side with their well-known square construction. Other options include:
- A laptop bag.
- A small duffel bag,
- A backpack cooler for food and drinks.
- An outdoor bag with long strings instead of straps.
Select Your Backpack Color
No matter how creative you get with the personalization, your design will likely not cover the entire backpack. Look for a base color that will complement your brand’s image. A bag distributed among members of a law firm or a medical facility should be more somber than one to be given away at a summer camp.
Come Up with The Design
In promotional items, it is customary for people to be charged by the number of ink colors you use. If you found the perfect background color in the backpack, you can get away with a logo or brand name in just one or two shades.
Select a Printing Option
Choose one of these options:
Screen Printing – For designs that need only one color, it is very budget-friendly.
Digital Printing – For colorful designs, this option is more expensive but includes all colors.
Embroidery – If you want your design to last, embroidery is a great option. Up to 8 colors may be included in the quote.
Work with a Minimum
As with most promotional items, you need to be prepared to order a minimum amount. This may be 100, 200, or more. Remember that it is always worth it to order more than you think you need now. After all, rucksacks do not come with an expiration date. If you get extras, you may find that they come in handy right away, or you may need to store some until the time comes to need them again.
Find a Reliable Manufacturer
Before you even start thinking about the ideal backpack style for your project, take the time to find the right company to get it done. There are plenty of online options, but you want to work with a reputable establishment that will create a good product, stay within your budget, and deliver the backpacks free of defects and on time.
