With an era-inspired pin curl in my hair, bright red lips and a naval uniform style dress; I headed to Library Gardens in Whitchurch, Cardiff to the Vintage for Victory weekend festival ready for a trip down memory lane.
The throwback event is in its third year and celebrates all that is great from the 40’s to 60’s. Plus 10% of all ticket sales are donated to Cancer Research Wales – one of the leading cancer charities in the country and who are based at Velindre Hospital behind the gardens.

Viewing from my lounger on the beach in Gran Canaria, my social media streams were full of delicious-looking food as the BITE Cardiff Food Festival team teased pictures of the fantastic food that could be sampled on the lead up to the event.
The event was held on Saturday 14th July 2018 at Insole Court between 12 noon and 10pm. It was advertised as a ‘food festival with a difference’ and focused on high-quality dishes and no fast food, and no entrance fee. The Chef’s were given the challenge of creating a single dish to sell for £3 each.

For Christmas my mother paid for the four of us (mum, dad, myself and my brother) to have hospitality at the Cardiff City Stadium for the Stereophonics gig. I think we were all taken aback by the gift. My brother loves live music, but this leans heavily on the alternative side of things. Dad is a music fan, especially of The Beatles and The Who, but I did not think he liked anything past the 70’s. I have previously helped mum download the album for her iPod – that’s right, she still uses an iPod. I think she wishes it was a CD player.
