St Dwynwen’s Day – Welsh Valentine’s Day

So, the Welsh know a little thing or two about love, we have our own special hug, a cwtch, and our very own Valentine’s Day. Dydd Santes Dwynwen | St Dwynwen’s Day is celebrated every year on 25th January.  Why wait until February when you can wish your partner ‘dwi’n dy garu di’ (I love you) a few weeks earlier?

Happy Handwriting Day!

So in the age of digital media, where we put our thoughts, feelings on the web and share our news on social media have we forgotten the power of the pen?  When the hand-written letter, thank you note or documents is fast becoming a thing of the past, the art of elegant or even just legible handwriting may well be under threat.  The unofficial holiday National Handwriting Day encourages you to put pen to paper, and to practice your handwriting.

Should we be celebrating Women’s Healthy Weight Day?

Thursday 17th January 2019 is Women’s Healthy Weight Day.  Yes, apparently this is a thing!  Why are we all so obsessed with how we look?  Should we really be blaming the media, when cases of anorexia and bulimia can be dated back to the 15th Century and perhaps beyond?
